Gov’t Announces Date For Launch Of 24-hour Economy Policy

The Presidential Advisor on the 24-hour economy, Augustus Goosie Tanoh, has announced that the 24-hour initiative will be launched on Wednesday, 2nd July 2025.

According to him, the programme is designed to transform production, with agriculture as its main anchor, to develop the nation’s value chain and achieve greater productivity.

Mr. Tanoh explained that the policy is built on three pillars: production transformation, supply chain and market efficiency, and human development.

He disclosed this when he led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.

Mr. Tanoh stated that the initiative will be driven by four key subgroups: “Grow 24” focusing on agriculture, “Make 24” on manufacturing, “Connect 24” on supply chains, and “Aspire 24” aimed at transforming the Ghanaian mindset.

As part of Aspire 24, the government will incorporate strong digital technology training into the TVET curriculum to provide employment opportunities.

He added that a component dubbed “Show Ghana” will highlight Ghana’s vibrant culture to the diaspora, with the goal of attracting more tourists and boosting income through tourism.

In his remarks, Speaker Bagbin noted that the initiative presents many opportunities for employment.

He emphasised that the 24-hour economy office must work diligently to secure parliamentary approval for a bill.

This, he believes, would ensure the continuity of the policy even in the event of a change in government.
