The Constituency 1st Vice Chairman of New Patriotic party for Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency and Ashanti Regional TESCON Patron, Hon. John Kwame Duodu, popularly known as Sir John, on his mission of strengthening the youth wing of the NPP towards the Breaking the Eight agenda, joined the Akrokerri College of Education chapter of the Tertiary Students’ Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on a Freshers Hunt and Orientation and Leadership Summit” over the weekend, Sunday, 12th March 2023
It was on the theme: ” Rejuvenating the Students and Base: the Role of TESCON In Breaking the Eight.”
His message sought to attract the youth into the vibrant youth wing of the New Patriot Party and also how to assuage the challenges confronting the youth in the political arena..
Touching on why the youth should meaningfully get involved in Ghana’s politics, Sir John stated, “every country’s development mostly depends on how the youth is included in the affairs of the country.”
According to the member of the National Association of TESCON Patrons, “To make a long-term difference in Ghana’s socio-economic, especially making reality the party’s breaking the eight agenda, challenges confronting young people across the length and breadth of this country’s must be considered and addressed as a political party.”
He further explained that the capabilities of the youth should not be undermined since that provides the youth with the opportunities to generate a desirable community change.
He also emphasized that with effective support from the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), nothing can stop the party from breaking the eight. He said the total commitment of members of the students’ wing to their work would undoubtedly help the NPP maintain power in the 2024 elections and beyond.
He observed that, “for the party to remain stronger, it would depend on the youth, especially the TESCON. With your maximum support and commitment, nothing can stop the party from breaking the eight.”
He reminded TESCON Executives and members of the critical roles played by their predecessors in the past toward the NPP’s electoral fortunes.
Sir John said the NPP is the only party that has the vision, capacity, and good programs to manage the economy to provide improved standards of living for every Ghanaian, especially the youth, hence the need for every member to work towards breaking the eight.

He stated that the Nana Akufo-Addo-led administration had laid a solid foundation for the country, transformed the economy, and was working hard towards transforming the lives of Ghanaians.
He charged members of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to start working now if they wanted to see the party clinch to power after the 2024 polls.

“If we do not work hard to ensure that the NPP breaks the eight, Ghana will retrogress.” “We have to help the party protect what we have achieved this far”, he opined.
He ended by entreating the youth, especially TESCON members all over the country to be disciplined in their academic pursuits and also unite and work towards breaking the eight-year change of government and political administration of Ghana
