The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kintampo North Constituency, Joseph Kwame Kumah, on Wednesday, commissioned a modern maternity ward for Kunsu Health Center at Kunsu, in the Bono East region.

The facility, would enhance effective health care delivery especially reducing challenges associated with maternal care services among over 10,000 residents of Kunsu and its neighbouring communities, who benefitted from the center.

He had earlier donated a brand new motorbike to the Kintampo Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) to aid in crime combat, in order to ensure peace and stability in the constituency and beyond.

Mr Kumah also presented two brand new swive chairs to the Kintampo Municipal office of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), to aid their administrative work as a key agent of safeguarding the health needs of the constituents.

The maternity ward, which was started by the Former MP, Kwasi Etu – Bonde, with his share of the NHIA fund, was duly completed and handed over by the current Parliamentarian.

Mr Kumah, at a durbar to officially hand over the facility to the Ghana Health Service (GHS), commended his predecessor for initiating the project, and urged government to complete all legacy projects in the area.

He indicated that it was his topmost priority to make health care provision easily accessible and affordable to constituents adding that the health of every nation is its wealth.

Mr Kumah, a member of the Judiciary and education committees of Parliament, entreated officials of the NHIA, health professionals of the facility and residents of Kunsu , to collaborate to ensure quality health care delivery.

The MP implored his constituents to rally behind him to facilitate massive infrastructural development across the area adding that I am always ready to serve with dignity and humility.

He urged citizens of Kintampo both locally and abroad, individuals and organisations among other stakeholders, to contribute their quota to the growth of the constituency stressing that together we can build.

The Kintampo Municipal Director of Health Service, Dr Collins Danquah, expressed gratitude to Mr Kumah for supporting quality health care provision in the enclave emphasising that the ward must be furnished with equipment.

Osahene Kwaku Korang II, the chief of Kunsu, thanked both the former and current MPs for the successful completion of the project, and called for the routine maintenance of the facility.
