Kwahu West Municipal Assembly Demolished National Security Treat Zone In Nkwakaw

The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with local chiefs, has demolished a notorious drinking spot known as ‘Bobo Shanti’ in Nkwakaw, Eastern Region. The spot was allegedly a hub for crime and drugs, with eight reported deaths linked to the area.

According to the Municipal Chief Executive for Kwahu West, Hon. Tamimu Halidu, ‘Bobo Shanti’ was a haven for illicit activities that had been plaguing the community. The MCE revealed that the area was notorious for crimes that had resulted in the loss of eight lives.

Hon. Halidu stated that the permit issued to the occupants was for temporary structures, but they had built permanent structures, which was a breach of the agreement between the assembly and the occupants. This breach, coupled with the criminal activities, led to the demolition of the spot.

The MCE used the opportunity to advise the youth to steer clear of drugs and instead take advantage of the government’s flagship programs.

According to him, this will help them to secure a brighter future.

Hon. Halidu emphasized the importance of government initiatives, which include: National Apprenticeship, Adwumawura, and others, aimed at empowering the youth.

He urged them to explore these opportunities and utilize them to improve their socio-economic status.
