The Akufo-Addo government, despite its elaborated promises and catchy slogans in the 2016 electioneering campaign, is performing poorly compared to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration under John Mahama.
According to the Ashanti region Communication team member of the largest Opposition party National Democratic Congres (NDC), Jerry James Sukah popularly know as Papa Jay has stated that the former president John Mahama’s administration, they managed the economy far better than the NPP is doing.
He said the NDC ensured a more stable economy and addressed problems of price volatility on the markets, but same cannot be said of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government under President Akufo-Addo who has plunged the country into hardship.
He noted that while the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after several loans cannot account for it in terms of infrastructure, the NDC government invested monies it borrowed in many infrastructural projects in various sectors including health, roads and education.
“[The NPP is] borrowing and not showing much with the borrowing. At the least NDC borrowed and you can see what they did, schools, hospitals, roads etc,” he said in an exclusive interview with MyGhanaMedia.com.
“The fact that people know you don’t mean that they necessarily want you. The fact that you are well known doesn’t mean you are the most acceptable…..People are looking for renewal, reinvigoration, fresh blood and that I say is not a hurricane, it is not a whirlwind, it is not a thunderstorm, it is not a cyclone, it is a tsunami. It is a tsunami and it will shoot all the way through the national [executive elections] to the flagbearership,” he said. He also stated that he’s not interested in becoming Mr. John Mahama’s Running mate as some have suggested.
On 2020 Election Violence
Papa Jay aired out angrily that he don’t like the way majority leader, kyei Mensa Bonsu and the NPP are handling the election violence at techiman south during the 2020 election.
The government seemed to have ignored the persistent complaints and allegations ghanaians are levelling against this uncourth act which is very suspicious.
It’s Soo heartbreaking to see the MP for suame constituency kyei Mensa Bonsu and their Leadership defend this act whenever the minority calls for its investigation.
The families of these victims are crying vehemently for justice and the most painful aspect of this tragedy which has left most ghanaians pondering is the families and children they left behind and how they will survive.
Ghana’s democratic principles has been stabbed in the heart under the Nana Addo government.
As the NDC communicator I wish to state emphatically clear that our former President John Mahama’s governance was 100% better than the akuffo Addo government.
The techiman Southerners case is a typical example of a revolution and social injustice. The president must pave way for the investigation soon.
Kyei Mensa Bonsu should quit that inhumane rebattal at the parliament and consider the lives left behind.
