The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Adansi-Asokwa constituency, Kobina Tahir Hammond (K.T. Hammond) has said he has filed a police report against James Klutse Avedzi, the NDC Member of Ketu North Constituency for assaulting him.
Speaking to the media at the premises of the Supreme Court on Tuesday after the ruling over the case of the vacant seat, KT Hammond expressed his frustration, accusing Avedzi of physically pushing him during a discussion after parliament’s last meet at the forecourt of the Accra International Conference Centre
“Yes I have filed, I have filed. We are human beings in that parliament, we exhibit human behavior, and we are not animals” he said.
The Trade and Industry Minister said he did not understand why he was talking to the leader of the NDC MP, Dr. Ato Forson, and another NDC MP came from nowhere to push him.
K.T. Hammond narrated, “I was talking to my nephew Ato Froson, a Minority Leader. It is your responsibility to make sure that, in this case, the Speaker of the House abides by the ruling of the Supreme Court, so talk to him, I mean show leadership. This man came out of nowhere pushing me, I kept shouting you can’t push me like that what is your business? He pushed me about 5 times.”
Hon. Hammond said this is not about a colleague, he has filed the police report because they are not animals in the parliament.
