The Divisional chief of Asere Kotopong has counsel government over close season of the shores and sea.
Speaking in an interview with some media in Accra, the divisional chief of Asere Kotopong of Abehenease, Nii Kotey Susubribi I, has counsel the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Hon Hawa Koomson and the government to end close season because it against customs and traditions of the people of Ga state.
According to him, why is that the government has decided to only close the sea when the of Ga state are performing rituals that gears towards their festival.
He mentioned that chiefs and people of Ga state are not happy with the decision of government to close sea whilst they’re performing rituals to remember their ancestors and forefathers.
“Can Hon Koomson go to the North where she is coming from and tell them that they should go to farming on their Yam Festivities why doing that to the people of Ga state”he asked.
Nii Kotey Susubribi I was optimistic that he will urge the youth and the entire Ga state to vote massively against the NPP government because they have no respect for the people of Ga state.
The issue that close season is to help fisherfolk is a big lie and must be disregarded by the fishermen and the entire coastal belts.
However while the indigenous Ghanaians fishermen are at home all in the name of close season but our Chinese vessels have their free day at the shores.
This not right who did government are deceiving with their blunted lies and why are they multreating our gallant fishermen.
He called on the Ga Traditional Council to speak up against wrong doing by this NPP government and stop being mute over serious issues.
According to him, what pains him is that is left with only one week to Homowo Festival and as we all know they use fish to prepare kpokpoi the traditional food and how going to get the fish so what government is telling them now is that they should go and buy the fish from the Chinese Coldstore waoow this is unbelievable.
He said is only in Ghana one can experience this autocratic rule of government and abusing the right of citizens without fear or favour.
