John Ofori-Atta, also known as Comando, the former Central Region Coordinator of National Security, has officially submitted his nominations for candidacy in the upcoming Atwima Mponua Parliamentary Primary of the New Patriotic Party.

Hundreds of NPP supporters, polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, former constituency executives, and elders of the party, among many other key stakeholders in the constituency, turned out massively to support him in submitting the forms to the elections committee.

The mammoth crowd-charged atmosphere marches through the principal streets of the district capital, Nyinahin, to exchange pleasantries with youth groups and elders in the community amidst drumming and dancing.

Addressing the public, John Ofori-Atta assured the people of Atwima Atwima Mponua of his unwavering commitment to work and serve the constituency with integrity when given the node in the party’s internal elections and consequently in the 2024 general elections, adding that he has an unfinished business in the constituency.

He said the day marked a significant milestone in his journey for a brighter future together with the people of Atwima Mponua, and with humility, he seeks to represent the hopes and aspirations of the constituency.

He, therefore, reaffirmed his resolve to serve the constituency with a humble heart, unwavering dedication, and service with integrity.

Mr. John Ofori-Atta’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of the people and addressing the longstanding neglect of developmental projects has resonated with the community, igniting a sense of optimism for a brighter future.

In a fervent bid for political change, Mr. John Ofori-Atta said he has set his sights on unseating the long-standing representative, Isaac Kwame Asiamah.

According to him, the incumbent Member of Parliament and the former minister for youth and sports, Isaac Kwame Asiamah, who has served the constituency since 2005, has failed to bring the requisite development to the constituency and has urged the constituents to vote for him to win the 2024 election.

Additionally, he fears that if current lawmaker Isaac Kwame Asiamah is permitted to lead the NPP prior to the 2024 elections, the party might lose its seat to the NDC.

He asked the party faithful and delegates in the constituency to compare the outcomes of the 2020 and 2016 parliamentary elections in order to confirm his claim.

Some of the jubilant NPP supporters, including delegates, described John Ofori-Atta as the savior of the people and well-connected in the political domain.

Some delegates state that the current MP has let them and the entire constituency down.

And for this reason, they are demanding modifications.
