The Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda Constituency Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah has presented a cash amount GH¢ 5,000 to Oda Senior High School (ODASCO) students who participated in in this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz 2021 (NSMQ), competition.
Speaking to MyGhanaMedia.com, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah disclosed that, the gesture was in recognition of the students’ hard work which had made the entire constituency heroes in the just ended regional competition leading to them booking a place at the national competition.
Addressing staff and students at Oda Senior High School ( Odasco) in Akyem Oda, the MP said he was elected to serve the people of the area and indicates his readiness to offer them servant leadership throughout his tenure.
Mr. Alexander Akwasi Acquah congratulated students and management of the school for the remarkable success they attained in this year’s contest, adding that the donation was meant to motivate them to do more.
“It is a great achievement and I was in the school to on behalf of the entire constituency show our appreciation for a job well done,” he stated.
He pledged to in due course provide some other support to enhance students learning as education is the best tool to help bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, hence his commitment to provide the needed support to the constituents to help reach their full potential in education.
He added that, he is hoping to see them excel to finals in 2022.
The Head Mistress of Oda senior High School Madam Philomena Rose Boateng thanked Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah for his motivation to the students.
She also thanked the teachers who assisted the students and everyone who prayed for the students.
On Behave of the students, Richard Asare who participated in the quiz also thanked Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah for his motivation and support.
He also promised that the school will make him proud next year by taking the price home.
