The largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially announced that it will contest the outcome of the 2020 presidential polls at the Supreme Court.
In a press statement issued by the party dated on Tuesday, 29th December 2020, the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asideu-Nketiah said the decision was taken after a meeting by the National Executive Committee.
According to the party, it will continue with all legitimate actions to ensure that “the government of President Akufo-Addo to enforce the rule of law and protect life and property in Ghana and, in particular, to take all necessary measures to bring to swift justice those responsible for the murders, injuries and destruction of property before, during and in the aftermath of the general elections.”
According to the party (NDC) the presidential election results declared were manipulated in favour of the incumbent government led by Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.
