Head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars Otto Addo has explained his reason for leaving Thomas Partey out of the squad for the final two African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Niger and Angola.

Otto Addo made this known when he announced the squad for the two remaining matches in the series.

Otto Addo was clear about maintaining confidentiality regarding details of the conversations he has with his players regarding the squad

“I am not going to tell you the internal issues, but I made it quite clear to him; he wanted to come, but I made it quite clear why he’s not coming.” he said when addressing the media

Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew will captain the squad in the upcoming games against Niger and Angola.

Ghana needs to win both upcoming matches to stand a chance of qualifying for the tournament next year in Morocco

Ghana is third in Group F on two points with Angola on twelve points and Sudan and Niger on seven and one point respectively.
