Pecan Energies Ghana Limited and Buruli Ulcer Victims Aid (BUVA FOUNDATION PROJECT) have commissioned a mechanised borehole for the people of Duaponko in the Afigya Kwabre North District in the Ashanti region.
Residents living in this community had to share water with Cattles and other animals.
Considering how horrible the situation was, Mr Emmanuel Jackson Agumah, the founder and leader of Buruli Ulcer Victims Aid (BUVA) foundation and doubles as the parliamentary candidate for Afigya Kwabre North NDC as part of his numerous duties promised to get them portable drinking water.
He explained the reason behind the kind gesture whilst urging them to use medicated soaps to prevent themselves from transferable skin diseases.
The assembly member for Duaponko electoral area, Honourable Osmah Aso Lambeth, added the community, is in dire need of such special amenities, however applauding the NGOs for their benevolent jobs.
Nana Kofi Agyemang, who doubles as Kenyaasehene Sanaahene and Kwamanghene, and is in charge of Duaponko stool lands, expressed his worries over how the community is lagging behind in terms of social amenities.
He applauded Mr. Emmanuel Agumah, BUVA president, and Pecan GH for their kind gestures towards them.
Some residents of Duaponko expressed their excitement to them for giving them portable, drinkable water.
They seized the opportunity to call on the government to come to their aid to help them with lighting system as well as good roads
