Some assembly members in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region have expressed their disappointment in the current leadership of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the region.
Their despondency come at the backdrop that some stalwarts in the ruling government who are regional executives have acquired major road contracts in the district but have failed to work on the road.
This according to them have brought serious apathy among party members in the district with many calling on delegates to vote out any regional executive who has a contract but has failed to deliver the end of his or her bargain.
Speaking to OTEC News Kwame Agyenim Boateng, one of the aggrieved members, Hon Williams Kusi Oboadum, Assembly Member for Pakyi No. 1 described the situation as worrying.
He disclosed that the situation in the district caused many party memberd to either vote for the NDC’s Parliamentary candidate or shawn voting at all.
He added that the situation paved way for the NDC to claim almost 30 percent of votes in a the 2020 polls in a constituency which is touted to be one of the strongest holds of the NPP in the region.
He called for a swift action against the current NPP leadership in the region to avoid losing more votes
