President Begins Four (4)-Day Tour In Ashanti Region Today.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will today, 4th November, 2020, begin a four-day working visit to the Ashanti Region.

On this tour, the President is expected to commission projects, break ground for new projects, and call on the revered palaces of traditional authorities.

On day 1 of his tour, President Akufo-Addo will begin his tour by visiting Fomena. At Fomena, he shall honour a durbar organized by revered leaders of Fomena township to welcome him. From there, he shall proceed to inspect ongoing construction of Fomena Hospital and commission a 450 bed capacity dormitory block at T.I Ahmaddiya S.H.S at Fomena. From there, he shall depart for Akrokerri. At Akrokerri, President shall commission a 450 bed capacity dormitory at Asare Bediako S.H.S. Right after the commissioning, the President shall proceed to Obuasi to inspect the ongoing construction of Anwiankwanta-Obuasi stretch, Obuasi town roads under construction and inaugurate Obuasi Campus of K.N.U.S.T. From Obuasi, the President is expected to move to New Edubiase to inspect ongoing construction of New Edubiase Sports Stadium, pay a courtesy call on the Chiefs and Elders at a durbar to welcome him and finally, Launch a Rural Telephony Project.

Day 2 of the President’s tour of Ashanti Region will begin in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency. Over there, President Akufo-Addo shall grace a durbar organized by the Chiefs and Elders at Foase to officially welcome him. From Foase, he shall move to Boankra in the Ejisu Constituency where the President shall cut sod for the construction of Boankra Inland Port to continue after it was abandoned by the NDC when the NPP left office in 2009. From Boankra, President Akufo-Addo shall move to Asokore Mampong within Asawase Constituency to comminssion the Affordable Housing Units. After the commissioning, President Akufo-Addo is expected to move to the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency. Over there, he shall inspect the ongoing construction of J.A Kuffour S.H.S. at Dabaa and commission a 60 bed capacity hospital at Akropong. Still in the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency, President Akufo-Addo shall join the Chiefs and Elders for a durbar to officially welcome him. After that, he shall commission Atwima Nwabiagya North District 2- storey Administration Block and a 12 Unit Classroom Block at Barekese S.H.S. The President shall round up his day at Ohwim Amanfrom in the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency where he is expected to address the town folks.

On Day 3, the President is expected to move to Techiman in the Bono East to grace the Farmers Day Celebration. From Techiman, he shall get back to Suame Constituency in the Ashanti Region. At Suame, President Akufo-Addo shall inspect ongoing construction of Abbatoir at Kotoko, inspect ongoing construction of Suame Magazine Hospital and address traders at Suame Magazine. The President ends the day at Angel FM for a radio interview. 

On Day 4 which brings finality to the tour, President Akufo-Addo shall begin the day by attending the one week observation of the late Dr. Kwadwo Nyantakyi at Ahodwo in the Nhyiaeso Constituency. From there, President Akufo-Addo is expected to inspect the ongoing construction of the Creative Arts School at Kwadaso and commission a TVET at Methodist Technical Institute.

From Kwadaso, the President shall move to Bekwai to commission the new Bekwai Municipal Hospital. After the commissioning, the President shall move to Jacobu for a funeral of the late Hon. Nkrumah Gyimah. The President shall round up his day by meeting heads of Churches and Para-Church Organizations in Ashanti at Power Chapel Worldwide.
