The announcement of nominees for the main edition of Taptap Ghana Music Award USA ( GMA-USA 2022 ) took place in Yonkers, New York on 16 April 2022

Taptap Send Ghana Music Awards USA, put together by Don’s Music Production and first held in October 2020, is an awards platform that seeks to recognise and encourage Ghanaian musicians in the diaspora, particularly in the US.

It also functions with the vision of actively promoting and celebrating Ghanaian music internationally.

The 2022 version of the award show, themed  Taptap Send  Ghana Music Awards USA 2022 marks the third edition after it commenced in 2020.

The Ghana Music Awards-USA in just three years has been able to secure two major headline deals for their events. This year, the scheme has announced yet another big deal with top money-sending vendor and platform, TapTap Send.

The main event will be held on August 20th, 2022.

Last year, GMA-USA awarded artistic feats across 27 categories. Gospel singer Diana Hamilton emerged as 2021’s biggest winner, taking home the coveted Artist of the Year trophy, as well as the Gospel Song of the Year and the Gospel Artiste of the Year awards.

“GMA-USA Will change the Ghanaian mindset about award ceremonies,” Don’s Music Production CEO Dennis Boafo said.

“We want to infuse our culture and music in our ceremonies. We have always been only projecting the music component of our culture but it is time to fully project our culture on these bigger stages for the world to learn and appreciate what we have.”
