Hon. John Kwame Duodu, affectionately known as Sir John, the NPP Constituency First Vice Chairman for Atwima Nwabiagya South, has called on Ghanaian citizens to rise and embrace the role of fatherhood.

In a Father’s Day Celebration Massage, the Ashanti Regional TESCON Patron said, Fathers are pillars in the development of children’s well-being; a symbol of security—physically, emotionally, and financially; a role model; they maintain a healthy marriage; they create a safe and loving environment for the family; and they are agents of growth in society.

He also believes that, on this special occasion of Father’s Day, fathers and persons who assume fatherhood must be acknowledged and recognized.

Sir John used the opportunity to extend Father’s Day celebrations to the President of the Republic, H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President and NPP Presidential Candidate hopeful, Dr. Alhaji Mahmoudu Bawumia, all NPP-led administration, executives, and all fathers across the country and beyond.

“On this special occasion of the Father’s Day Celebration, as the inaugural vice chairman of this esteemed constituency, I want to add my voice to the million voices to extend my heartfelt felicitations to the President of the 4th Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Akufo-Adddo, Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, and all fathers on this auspicious occasion of Father’s Day. Fathers are the unsung heroes who toil tirelessly to shoulder their responsibilities and uphold the very fabric of our society.

“It is with great pleasure that I seize this opportunity to extend my warmest wishes to all fathers, both within and beyond the confines of our illustrious constituency. May this day be a reminder of the invaluable contributions that fathers make to our lives, and may they continue to inspire us with their unwavering commitment to their families and communities.”

He stressed that “as fathers, we owe it a duty to go beyond all odds to see to the well-being and survival of children, so let us not fail them”.

He encouraged all young men to live up to expectations as they embrace virtues on their journey to fatherhood and as future leaders.

Father’s Day is a holiday honoring one’s father or relevant father figure, as well as fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society.

It is celebrated annually on the third Sunday in June.
