Statistical Service Holds Colourful Census Night Event Ahead Of 2021 Exercise

The Ghana Statistical Service has held a colourful census night to mark the official start of the 2021 Population and Housing Census.

 

The census night fell on Sunday, June 27, 2021.

 

 

 

 

In the Korle Klottey Municipality of the Greater Accra Region for instance, there was a float through the major streets to create awareness about the exercise.

 

 

 

Similar events are expected to take place in various parts of the country.

 

 

Enumerators and supervisors will commence the exercise tonight by counting persons who sleep in open spaces like markets, bus terminals and  hotels among others.

About 2021 census

The 2021 population and housing census, which will run till July 11, 2021, is meant to generate data that will be used in decision-making and planning for the development of the country and its citizens.
