The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tain Cuestiency, Sulemana Adama popularly known as Hon. Ramzy Adams has cut sod for the commencement of an Ultramodern Six (6) Unit Classroom Block and 6-seater water closet for Presbyterian JHS in Seikwa in the Tain District of Bono Region.
The construction will see a 6-seater water closet, and it’s scheduled to be completed within twelve months.
Addressing the Chiefs and stakeholders, including the media, at the sod-cutting ceremony, the member of parliament said the facility will help improve the educational infrastructure in Seikwa, increase the number of enrollments and create a sound environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning in the community.
The Member Parliament stated that the gesture was in fulfillment of some of his promises to the constituents to ensure quality and accessible education in the district.
He stressed that a priority of him is education, which is the only key to success, and urged the authorities of the school and the chiefs to ensure proper maintenance of the buildings to ensure the attainment of their intended purposes on completion and when in use, which he says, he will continue to invest in educational infrastructure within the district.
“Infrastructure should not be a hindrance to every child of school-going age, and that is why I am working hard to have a school environment with the appropriate infrastructure for all children,” he said.
‘’Access to education is linked to the infrastructure in schools, and that explains why school enrollment increases with increased infrastructure, when you take a glare at this school you could see that the enrollment in the school is getting higher with less infrastructure, hence the need for the contractor is being tasked the speed the workout of the project’’, he added.
He therefore implored all stakeholders to offer all necessary support to ensure the contractor to complete the projects within the agreed 12 months, as funds for the project are readily available from his common fund.
The Tain District Education Director, Mr. Addo Akorsah Richard expressed his outfit appreciation to the MP for his continuous vision of expanding the infrastructure base of many schools in the district, and urged the citizens to help the contractor in terms keeping well the material for the project.
The Oyokohene of the Seikwa Traditional Council, Nana Okyere Darko III also thanked the MP for the projects but appealed for further support to complete the project.
