Flagbearer hopeful of the main opposition political party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Kwabena Duffour has asked Ghanaians not to lose hope in life and Ghana.

According to the former minister for Finance and Economic Planning the next NDC government under his leadership will bring socio-economic relief .

Highlighting some of the economic records during his term in office, the relatively quiet and soft-spoken NDC flagbearer aspirant disclosed that he was able to constantly keep inflation under single digit.

This achievement he attributed to sound and prudent economic management which he passed with distinction.

The former Finance minister disclosed this in an interview with the media shortly after he has submitted a flagbearer form to lead the party.

He sounded very sure of winning the upcoming presidential primaries, adding that the battle has just begun.

Dr Duffour disclosed that the NDC remains deeply committed to improving the lives of the ordinary Ghanaians by creating job opportunities and schemes for traders after winning election 2024.

Speaking after submitting his forms, Dr Duffour said that NDC seeks to create opportunities for all as a strategic effort to tackle unemployment rate in the country.

“The submission of the forms means we are ready to start the battle,” said Dr Duffour.

He said that NDC is coming back in 2025 to restore hope for Ghana’s economy and to make vast differences in terms of administering a country in 2025.

He said Ghanaians are facing challenges in the country but there is great hope for Ghanaians after winning election 2024.

Dr Duffour also revealed that the party is coming to put measures in place to reduce the inflation rates in the country.

NDC is going to focus on domestic resource mobilization and to help transform the country to another level of development adding that domestic resource mobilization will be their priority.

Dr Duffour said that Ahotor project is a real deal for progress, jobs and to generate sustainable revenue for use as welfare and to bring on board micro-businesses.

He called on the delegates to vote vividly when electing flagbearer to lead the party in the general elections adding that party members who are working in the various parties will receive allowances when the party resumes office.

He said that women will receive a greater portion of the Ahotor project.

“We are going to make use of you to take a strong position in the party because of the benefits of women,’’ Dr Duffour stated.

“We must make the party very attractive and make sure that the grassroots are well resourced,’’ Dr Duffour added.

The NDC under Late Atta Mills was able to change the country and we will continue his administration after 2024.

He said that they are going to push the elephant(NPP) into the bush in the coming 2024.

On the other hand, the General Secretary of the party Mr. Fiifi Kwatey heaped praises on his former boss for the demonstration of maturity and sense of belongingness in his campaign.

According to him, NDC is bigger than any individual and it is therefore important to be circumspect with their utterance before, during and after the campaign.

He assured the candidates of equal fairness and respect before and during the campaign.
