The First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Atwima Nwabiagya South, Mr. John Kwame Duodu (Sir John), has expressed deep disappointment and concern over the decision by President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to revoke all appointments and recruitments made after the December 7 elections.
Sir John described the decision as devastating, particularly for Ghanaian youth who had secured employment and were looking forward to a stable future.
He revealed that upon hearing the news, he was deeply moved, even to the point of tears, as he considered the hardships these young individuals would face.
He questioned how they would survive in an already difficult economic climate, highlighting the frustration and uncertainty this decision would bring.
He further criticized the NDC’s stance on unemployment, arguing that such an action contradicts their commitment to job creation and economic stability.
He pointed out that the outgoing president was still operating within his constitutional mandate until the official transition of power, and as such, revoking these appointments was both unfair and politically motivated.
Sir John passionately appealed to the current president to reconsider and reverse the decision, emphasizing its devastating impact on the youth.
“This is not what the NDC promised Ghanaians,” he stated, urging all well-meaning citizens to speak against this move, which he believes threatens the livelihood and future of many young people.
