The Methodist Church Ghana held a ceremony to officially induct Mr. Rev. Frank Gyimah Aniagyei as the new headmaster of the Achiase Senior High School in the Eastern Region.
The event was held on February 16, 2025, at the school’s assembly hall.
Until his new appointment, Mr. Rev. Frank Gyimah was an assistant headmaster of the Takrowase Community Day School from 2022 to 2024.
He was also the assistant headmaster of academics at Aburi Girls Senior High School, and he played a pivotal role in shaping the academic excellence of one of the country’s top institutions from 2019 to 2021.
Pledge of Commitment
He was led by Rt Rev. Isaac Kwame Boateng, Bishop of Oda Methodist Diocesan, to affirm his commitment to the service in which he has been appointed to undertake.
The Rev. explained that the induction ceremony was symbolic of the church as a mission, to officially present the newly appointed headmaster before God and also to the church congregation under which he served.
In his sermon, the Rev. Isaac Kwame Boateng stressed unity and hard work as the hallmark of excellence, adding that there is no need for him to lord his position over his subordinates.
He urged the new headmaster to work together with his staff and the school board to achieve the needed change and improve the academic performance of the students.
MP’s Remarks
The Member of Parliament for Achiase Constituency and the former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Ahenkorah Marfo, also urged the new headmaster to exhibit quality leadership through the demonstration of great kindness, love, and patience towards both the staff and students under him to help shape their moral lives.
Furthermore, he called on teachers and parents to help impart discipline to the students.
He added that decreasing student indiscipline requires collaboration from the government, parents, and teachers.
He also gave an assurance that he would always support the school to raise its flag to greater heights.
Headmaster’s Vision Statement
For his part, Mr. Rev. Frank Gyimah pledged to work with great zeal to make a positive impact on the development of the school.
He said Achiase School had sterling recognition across the globe, citing their performance at the Independence Debate competition, and gave an assurance he would continue to ensure the students exhibited truthfulness and punctuality, as well as moral and academic excellence, to become good citizens and render service to humanity.
He pledged to ensure that academic work, moral education, and religious training in the school would be lifted higher than the present standard.
He believes that this will let the teachers and students who come out of the institution be seen as committed Christians and good citizens of the country. He also called for God’s grace and the prayer support of the church to strengthen him in the pursuance of his duties and successful tenure of office.
Additionally, he stated that the school does not have enough infrastructure, and he pleaded with the government to provide them with more to help with teaching and learning.
Also, Frimpong Marfowah and Anakwah Kennedy, the prefects for boys and girls, made a plea to the government and stakeholders for infrastructure aid.
