The Minister for Communications and Digitalisation for the Republic of Ghana and the Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has told Ghanaians that what they are currently experiencing is the normal light off that has always been in the system.

She has denied the country is going through a power crisis popularly known as “Dumsor”.

The Communication and Digitalization Minister was speaking on Accra-based Asempa FM when she made this known.

“You can talk about Dumsor today? What we are experiencing is just light off and that has been with us all these years and it is nothing new. What’s dangerous is that we stayed in darkness for four years and there was no end in sight. During my Press Conference, the light went off for five minutes and it came back for us to continue,” she said.

The Communication Minister speaking on the economy noted that there is hardship in the country.

However, she was of the view that Ghanaians should not think of changing the New Patriotic Party and bring in the National Democratic Congress because life will be a lost worse under the leadership of the NDC.

“Times are hard and we acknowledge that but that should not be a reason to bring in the other people. Don’t take us from frying pan to fire,” she said.
