VIDEO: Sir John Donates To Support Ramadan

The First Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Atwima Nwabiagya South and philanthropist, Mr. John Kwame Duodu, popularly known as Sir John, has made a generous donation to the Muslim community in his constituency, during his tour of some selected mosques.

The donation came on the heels of his desire to support the Muslims during this Ramadan period as part of his annual compassionate gesture.

The donation, including 4 Bags of Sugar, 4 Cartons of milk, boxes of Nescafe, Tins of Milo, and boxes of Lipton, among others, reflects his commitment to ensuring that members of the Muslim fraternity stay nourished in this solemn period.

 

 

The selected mosques he visited were the Nkawie and Abuakwa mosques.

 

Presenting the items, Sir John, who is also the Ashanti Regional TESCON Patron, emphasized that, though the fasting period could still be successful without his donations, he is of a firm belief that there are some people who could not genuinely afford these items for their fasting, so the need for the donation.

He indicated that the donation forms part of his commitment to giving back to society.

“I don’t consider myself rich. My difference with people is that, whatever I have, I want to share it with people, especially the needy ones because that is what Allah and God have asked us to do”, he stated.

 

 

 

Mr. John Kwame Duodu reiterated that he will continue to prioritize assisting the Muslim community in his constituency and beyond, particularly during Ramadan.

Since he believes that the government cannot provide for all of its citizens on its own, he has pledged to work with the government, MCE, and MP to make sure that whatever little he holds onto will be shared with those in need, which is precisely why he is making this gesture to the Muslims.

He also seized the opportunity to admonish them to exhibit the true nature of Islam in order to live harmoniously with each other.

He then urged other NPP members in power to adhere in his footsteps of generosity and help those in need, regardless of their status.

Receiving the items, the Nkawie Zongo Chief Yusif Muhammed and Abuakwa Zongo Chief Alhaji Saani Muhammed commended Sir John for his significant contributions to the Muslim community in the era of Ramadan period.

 

“Allah is the only one who can reward you. But we will also add to your wish and desire by way of prayers so that God will bring into the fulfillment your heart desires,” the Chief Imams opined.

 

 

However, they also complimented the NPP administration for helping Muslims ever since they took office.
