Video: “So Bad I Don’t Want To Rate Him” – NAPO Blasts Mahama’s First 100 Days

Former Member of Parliament for Manhyia South and 2024 NPP running mate, Matthew Opoku Prempeh (Napo), has delivered a scathing assessment of President John Dramani Mahama’s performance after 100 days back in office.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the NPP National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Alisa Hotel in Ridge, Accra, Napo was asked how he would rate President Mahama’s performance out of 100.

His response was blunt and critical.

“It will be so bad, I don’t want to rate him,” Napo declared. “I will list about eight things and tell you which of them have been improved. We had constant electricity, but what is happening now? We had galamsey as an issue, what is happening now? We had improved as a country on illicit drug issues. I’m not talking about Rev. Ntim Fordjour; I’m talking about arresting more culprits in the last three months than in the eight years we were in office.“

Highlighting concerns about the country’s security landscape, Napo alleged that arrests linked to currency and gold smuggling have surged under Mahama’s watch, alongside troubling reports implicating NDC parliamentary candidates.

“We arrested more currency and gold smuggling in this country than we’ve ever heard in the last three months,” he stated.

Touching on worsening violence in conflict-prone areas like Bawku, Napo expressed alarm over the rising death toll.

“When I wake up every day, I read about things going on in Bawku…. More people have been killed in the last few months than probably was in the last four years. I was hoping that his [President Mahama’s] tenure, we would not deteriorate,” he lamented.

Napo concluded his critique by questioning the gap between the President’s promises and actions: “Talk is cheap, because if you can’t support your talk with actions.”
