The Member of Parliament, James Gyakye Quayson, has been absent from the Assin North Constituency for more than five (5) months, and the constituency’s citizens are becoming increasingly concerned about his whereabouts.

Some concerned youths have placed James Gyakye Quayson posters on the walls and around the buildings in the constituency.

They label him “missing” and accuse him of adopting a low local profile.

They said that following his victory in the buy-election, the lawmaker had “gone missing” from his constituency obligations.

The posters asked, “The Big Question: Where Is the Old Soldier? Assin North Constituency youths are asking

They state that James Gyakye Quayson was elected by them to represent the constituency in the Parliament of Ghana.

Thus, they asked the lawmaker why he abandoned his job and resided in Canada.

“You were voted to work in Ghana’s Parliament, but why have you forsaken the job and are staying in Canada? Nation wreckers!!” they exclaimed.

James Gyakye Quayson, according to the youths, departed Ghana for Canada just one month after winning the by-election.

They claim they don’t comprehend James Gyakye Quayson’s decision to apply for a job for which he is unprepared.

Assin North residents, particularly the younger generation, think their legislator is uninterested in doing his legislative duties and is not engaged in serving the needs of the people.

“You go for a position that you are not capable of or interested in, making sure you discharge your responsibilities. Can you do this in Canada?”

They contend that Mr. James Gyakye Quayson has not treated the Assin North people fairly.

A handful of constituents conveyed their displeasure to their member of parliament for abandoning them during the Christmas season.

“Every constituency is celebrating the Christmas festival with their MP; however, our MP is not available.”.

Thus, they promise to remove him from office in the general election that will take place on December 7, 2024.
