The Ghana National Cocoa Farmers Association (GNACOFA) numbering about more than 500,000 Cocoa Farmers are given the leading NPP government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo three(3) months ultimatum to fulfill their promises else they will show them their displeasure against him.
According to the farmers, there is a lot of challenges that confronting them and it is prudent they voice it out.
Speaking to Agyenkwa fm’s Obofo Michael at their Society’s Executive General Meeting at Kumasi Cultural Center, the president of Ghana National Cocoa Association (GNACOFA), Mr Stevenson Anane Boateng said, for the past eight (8) months that the president of Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and his other Executives launched *Cocoa Farmers Pension Scheme during the campaign time, they haven’t heard anything about it again which they believe is pathetic and need to be addressed.
Mr Anane Boateng said, they have writen a lot of letters to the cooperate entities but still ,it has proven to be futile.
He said , they are given the government only three(3) to do something about the Pension Scheme ,if not they will also launch *Nana Adaadaa Yen Pension Scheme, he lamented.
In addition, the Public Relation Officer for Ghana Cocoa Farmers Association (GNACOFA) Hon Richmond Frimpong also add his voice by saying the farmers are confronting a lot problems even they don’t have potable water to drink and also enjoying bad roads in their areas.
However, some farmers also explained their worries in the farming business.
