The Head Coach of Accra Hearts of oak Kosta Papic says he was not sacked ,but rather resigned from Accra Hearts of Oak in the 2008-2009 season.
The experienced Serbian trainer was appointed early this month for a second spell after inconsistent displays under Edward Odoom.
Papic led the Phobians to the summit of the table in 2008/09 before his dismissal with seven matches to go as they went on to win the league.
The 60-year-old’s target is to win a 21st league title with the club and also the CAF Champions League.
Reacting on his second coming, revealed to the host of focal sports, Rockson Adjei Yeboah on Kumasi-base Fox 97.9, that he was not sacked from Hearts of Oak but rather resigned”
“What motivated me to return to Hearts of Oak is that I want to win Caf Champions League for the club”.
“Hearts of Oak current performance is not close to what I’m expecting, but still trying to change the players mentality”.
“We are going to fight for the league trophy”.
Since leaving the shores of Ghana, the Serbian continued his career on the continent where he coached various clubs, including Young Africans in Tanzania, South Africa’s Black Leopards , Chippa United, Polokwane City, Royal Eagles, and eSwantini in Swaziland.
His second coming is expected to provide something special for the 20 times league champions who are now struggling to win trophies for over a decade now.
