15 different communities in Offinso North to get electricity – Deputy Energy Minister.

The Deputy Minister for Energy and also member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre South in the Ashanti region, Hon. Owuraku Aidoo, has disclosed that over 500 communities across the country are set to get electricity of which 15 of the communities are in the Offinso North District. 

Hon. Owuraku Aidoo speaking at the launch of the electrification project at Dwendabi in Offinso North stated that, the US$103milion electrification project was approved by parliament on 25th November, 2019 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic it’s execution was delayed.

Speaking in an interview with myghanamedia.com, the member of Parliament  for Offinso North Constituency and also  Deputy Minister for Local Gov’t and Rural Development Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim  revealed that it is his vision to provide electricity to every community without electricity in the Offinso North by the end of 2025.

 For his part,award winning DCE for Offinso North Hon. David Akwasi Asare Boakye “Adwumawura” commended the MP for his lobbying skills which has resulted to getting 15 more communities in the District on the national grid.

 Meanwhile, Daasebre Osei Bediako, Chief of Dwendabi has expressed his profound gratitude to President Nana Akuffo-Addo and the NPP Gov’t.
