Residents of Wulugu in the west Mamprusi municipality of the north East Region upon the incessant robbery attacks in their community has today mistakenly burnt a tanker driver’s mate to ashes using car tyres.
The robbery took place on the Wulugu-Bolgatanga truck road at the premises of the Assemblies of God Church in Wulugu.
The boy who is called Sanugu Abdulai, age (27) was mistaken as an armed robber and lynched to his death this morning at 9AM at the Zaami JHS in Wulugu.
A resident, Dauda Mike, in an interview with our North east regional correspondent, Dokurugu Alhassan revealed that Sanugu Abdulai took to his heels at the time the armed robbers were given warning shots.
The angry residents were told about the attack upon the gun shoots where Abdulai Sanugu was also running to save his life was being chased by the residents and lynched him to death because he couldnt speak the mampruli language to the understanding of the residents when he was caught.
The tanker driver (Sanugu’s master) was still waiting for his mate to come for them to go but his mate was beaten and burnt to ashes.
