Drama unfolded when an aspirant for the Ashanti Regional Second Vice Chairman position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Oscar Riches, burst into tears whilst he was campaigning for votes. Affectionately called ‘Ghana BeyeYie’, Oscar was addressing the Effiduase Asokore Constituency executives of the NPP to solicit their votes, when he started to cry on Monday.

Ghana Beye Yie, who had then been given the platform to announce his campaign message to the NPP delegates, turned emotional whilst he was pleading with the delegates to support his bid.

According to him, he loved the NPP so much with his whole heart and so was only seeking the chance to be elected as the party’s regional second vice chairman so he could serve his beloved NPP. In the course of his address, Ghana Beye Yie became emotional as he went down on his knees and started to cry uncontrollably, begging and pleading with the delegates to give him the chance to serve.

The NPP man’s shocking action, reportedly, made the NPP delegates present also emotional. Some of the delegates even consoled Ghana Beye Yie to stop crying and assured him of their votes.

After he had been consoled, Ghana Beye Yie continued with his statement, stressing that the NPP is the suitable political party to lead the country into affluence, so the party should stay in power.

According to him, election 2024 would be dicey and therefore the NPP should vote for patriotic, visionary and hardworking people like him to help the party to hang onto political power in 2024.
