Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have confirmed the signing of Uganda striker Steven Mukwala.
Mukwala joins the Porcupine Warriors to bolster their attack ahead of the new season, in which they will compete for domestic titles as well as the CAF Champions League trophy.
He has agreed to terms with the Ghana Premier League champions on a two-year deal.
The 23-year-old won Uganda Premier League top scorer award in 2019/20 with 13 goals in 23 appearances.
Mukwala is said to have been on the verge of joining Kotoko before the start of the previous season, but he instead ended up at Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) FC, where he scored 14 goals.
Mukwala made his competitive debut for the Uganda national team on September 6, 2021, when the Cranes faced Mali in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
He has 11 international caps for Uganda since his debut and has yet to score a goal.
Mukawala has 40 goals in 73 appearances in Uganda’s top flight over the last three seasons.
