The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is embarking on a day’s tour of the Upper East Region on Friday, August 5, 2022
The tour comes in the wake of concerns at Ghana’s border Region over the influx of supposed refugees from Burkina Faso.
The influx of ‘refugees’ from Ghana’s northern neighbours into the border Region is said to stem from the rising terrorist threats in the Sahel Region, which has seen the military in Burkina Faso struggle in containing the insurgency.
President Akufo-Addo is also expected to inspect some ongoing projects in the Region.
The last time he was in the Region was in June, 2021.
