Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, suffered claims of disqualifications on vetting day in the NDC parliamentary primaries and cleared yesterday to contest Pru East Parliamentary Primaries in the Bono East Region.
The disqualification information spread the whole Constituency, Pru East when Hon. Boam first contested for Organizer position at the Constituency level and was disqualified on membership maturity at the Constituency. Petitions raised against him allegedly fueled by the incumbent MP at that time for tempering party register at a branch to force his name into the branch.
When NDC opened nomination for the parliamentary, he picked the forms, processed and filed. The disqualification issues started again at the Constituency on the same issues during the Constituency level elections, misconduct of party orders and many more.
Yesterday at about 11:30am, the contestants of Pru East Constituency namely, Hon. Dr. Kwabena Donkor(MP), Hon. Bright Fiawornu and Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam got to the vetting at Nkoranza-Bono East Region. The MP, Hon. Donkor vetted and cleared followed by Hon. Bright Fiawornu. Some groups petition against the MP but was ignored by the vetting committee.
The ever waiting to be disqualify Boam got his turn to vet, some groups petition against him to see his disqualification again. Hon. Boam together with the vetting committee and the petitioners spent about 1h,40minutes in the vetting room. At the end, it was all joy when the vetting committee cleared to contest the Primaries that all the allegations against him baseless. He got ballot number 2.
In an interview, Hon. Boam expressed gratitude to all members who supported him both physically and spiritually and spoke about the disqualification claims.
He also urge the delegates to vote for him as he champions youth agenda and the Constituency’s development and commitment to the constituency.
Hon. Boam added that, most of the NDC members in the Constituency ignoring the party because of divisions in the party since some groups hijacked the party refusing to allow party structures and systems to work. He promise to reorganize and unite the party again.
Finally, chairman of the Constituency, Hon. Peter Nyakpaap affectionately called Chairman Peiro said all his prayers was to see all the 3 aspirants successful at the vetting.
He also spoke about his abilities as a chairman at the Constituency and wished all the aspirants the best of luck on 13th. May the elections day.
