Kojo Bonsu: My Political Experience Puts Me Ahead Of Other Contenders

National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer hopeful, Kojo Bonsu has touted himself as the best candidate to lead the largest opposition party in the 2024 presidential election.

The former Kumasi mayor explained that his experience as a politician puts him ahead of other contenders and asked delegates not to risk voting another candidate to lead the party.

He believes the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will have a better chance of winning the 2024 elections if a candidate of his caliber is chosen as the party’s flagbearer.

Commenting on the NDC’s chances with John Mahama as its flagbearer, Kojo Bonsu said Mr. Mahama is currently unfit for purpose to usurp the governing New Patriotic Party.

He claims that ex-President John Mahama would only risk marring his reputation further if given the mandate.
Speaking on Ahenkan FM’s morning show Maakye , Mr. Bonsu contended that John Mahama will no longer be a marketable candidate for the NDC in the future.

“If we want to win the 2024 elections, I think let’s bring someone like me. I am eligible to do it. It’s not an issue of fighting Mahama, insulting the former President, or doing anything, but the situation we find ourselves in, let’s try someone new and see if it will work,” he told host, Obuoba Ofori Amanfo.

Kojo Bonsu was appointed mayor for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly during the Mahama-Amissiah Arthur administration.

Much as he appreciates the role played by former President Mahama in elevating the image of the party, Mr. Bonsu indicated that “his time is short and he can only run for just a term even if he wins the race”.

Mr. Bonsu emphasized that he was better placed to rally the youth to unseat the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and turn the fortunes of the Ghanaian economy.
