Talensi MP Meets Parliamentary Candidate Elect, Former Candidates

As part of the process of creating a condusive, unified and peaceful campaign environment for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Talensi Constituency of the Upper East Region, the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. B. T. Baba has officially met with the NDC Parliamentary Candidate elect for the impending 2024 election, Mr. Daniel Mahama Dung and his erstwhile contenders for reconciliation process with the aim of uniting them to kick-start election 2024 campaigns.

Mr Benson Tongo Baba who could not hide his joy upon seeing the old Parliamentary aspirants, the PC elect and the Constituency executives together on the occasion congratulated the PC elect and thanked the former candidates and the Constituency Executives for their individual and collective contributions that led to the smooth conduct of the election. He stated that the peaceful co-existence between members of the party in the Constituency before, during and after the election have brighten the horizons and democracy of the NDC in Talensi and Ghana in general.

He however, reminded the PC and the other old aspirants of their oath of devotion to the party’s course and urged everyone to join forces to keep the seat for the NDC.

Mr B. T. Baba stated it is a must for the rank and file of the NDC in the Constituency to work extra hard to maintain the seat, hence the urgent need for unity.

 

 

He further added that Mr Daniel Mahama Dung, the PC elect winning the seat in the 2024 elections shall be a win for the NDC, and accordingly advised all and sundry to bury their hatchets and come together with the conscious mind of maintaining the seat.

He asked the PC and the Executives to swiftly ensure that a “THANK YOU” program is organize in order to pave way for other programs and activities that would ignite and prepare the party for the main task ahead.

On his part, the Parliamentary Candidate elect, Mr. Daniel Mahama Dung, thanked the MP, the Constituency Executives and his other ex-contestants for their roles and show of sportsmanship in the acceptance of the verdict of the delegates . He added that the many hearty congratulatory messages he continues to receive from the rank and file actually reminds him it was an internal election.

He assured them of an all inclusive leadership and asked for the support of all particularly, his colleagues to ensure victory for the NDC in the 2024 polls.

Mr. Solomon T. T. B. Zinekena and Mr. Martin Aduko Atiah, former candidates who were present both pledged their supports to the PC and the party and expressed their readiness to work relentlessly to ensure victory for the party.

As a demonstration of these commitments, the Constituency Chairman of the NDC, Hon. John Millim Nabwomya officially disband all campaign groups within the party in the Constituency and promised to formally inform the rank and file of the party of the steps taken.

The Constituency Executives also use the occasion to advice the candidate to give a true meaning to his promise of an inclusive leadership. They equally, advised the former aspirants present and absent, to work in the interest of the party to ensure that the desired goal of retaining the seat and increasing the popular presidential votes for H.E. John Mahama in the 2024 is achieved.
