For The Betterment Of Kumawuman Vote Massively For Ernest Yaw Anim – Kwabena Frimpong

The Deputy Director of Protocols of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Mr Kwabena Frimpong is entreating the electorates and members of the party to vote massively for the party’s parliamentary candidate, Ernest Yaw Anim in the upcoming by-election in Kumawu Constituency.

He [Ernest Yaw Anim] will face off with Akwasi Amankwaa , the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary candidate and two independent candidates who bear the same name, Kwaku Duah.

The by-election has generated interest among the two leading political parties-the governing New Patriotic Party and the opposition NDC, with the former giving indications of retaining the seat for the NPP and the latter being confident of snatching the seat.

Interacting with some electorates in Kumawu constituency in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Frimpong called on NPP members and the residents to ensure that the parliamentary candidate wins the by-election to continue the developmental agenda of the area.

“We all know that constitutionally, after the death of our late MP, Hon Philip Basoah, there has to be a by-election. our delegates within the constituency elected Ernest Yaw Anim to lead the party , “I’m calling on all the electorates including to vote massively for Ernest Yaw Anim to win the seat.
“Helping NPP maintain the seat will brings more relief to the people of Kumanwuman. Ernest Yaw Anim has all it takes to fight for share projects for the constituency, as you can see that there are a lot of beautiful projects ongoing in Kumawu constituency undertaken by the NPP government.

He urged the good people of Kumawu not to vote for any other candidate except the party’s candidate in the by-election, Ernest Yaw Anim to become the Member of Parliament for the area.

Ahead of the by-election slated for May 23, 2023, one of the independent candidates, Kwaku Duah who chose to run independent against the deceased MP in 2020, is going round the constituency telling the constituents that he’s also an NPP member who they should vote to represent them in Parliament.
But Mr Kwabena Frimpong who is the Kumawu constituency vigorously campaigning for the NPP candidate has told the electorate that Ernest Yaw Anim is the only candidate that the party recognizes and supports, who must be voted for.

He also denied allegations that recent infrastructural development ongoing in the Kumawu constituency aims to influence voters ahead of the by-election.

Mr. Kwabena Frimpong is in Kumawu together with the leadership of NPP including; Chairman Stephen Ntim (National Chairman), Justine Kodua Frimpong (General Secretary), Henry Nana Boakye aka Nana B ( National Organiser), Ashanti Regional Chairman, Chairman Wontumi known in real life as Bernard Antwi Boasiako and other Party’s executives,

The electoral management body Electoral Commission (EC) has slated May 23 for the Kumawu by-election.

The by-election follows the demise of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) MP, Philip Basoah who passed away in March, aged 54.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Ernest Yaw Anim, is the number one on the ballot paper; the National Democratic Congress candidate, Kwasi Amankwa, takes the second spot, while the third and fourth positions are for two independent candidates who bear the same name, Kwaku Duah.

 

 

 

 

 

Background

The Member of Parliament for the Kumawu Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Philip Basoah died on March 27, 2023.
Mr. Basoah was born in 1969.

He first came to Parliament in 2017 after winning the 2016 general elections in the Kumawu constituency.

Prior to sailing to Parliament, Mr. Basoah was a Chief Executive for the Sekyere East District from June 2005 to January 2009 and was also a tutor at the Agogo State College.

In the 2016 Ghana general elections, he won the parliamentary seat with 21,794 votes making 78.2% of the total votes cast on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.

In the 2020 Ghana general elections, he won the parliamentary seat with 14,960 votes making 51.1% of the total votes cast.
