Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P) College of Education, Amedzorfe (AMECO), is one the oldest missionary institution built by German missionaries and officially opened in February 10, 1946 for training teachers and has been in dire need of a Ulta-modern auditorium to cater for increasing number of students population and official school events.
As it stands now, the total school population stands at thousand and seventy – six (1,076) with five Hundred and sixty-four (564) males and five Hundred and twelve (512) females students also with forty-five (45) teaching staffs and fifty-eight (58) non-teaching staffs The current assembly hall is outdated and cannot accommodate the growing number of students and attendees.
The college administration has recognized the need for a modern auditorium and has been working tirelessly to secure government funding for its construction. The proposed auditorium will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and facilities, including high-quality audio and visual systems, comfortable seating, and adequate lighting as hoped for.
According to the college principal, Dr. Dickson Tsey, one of our biggest challenges is the absence of Ultra modern auditorium which has been a major challenge for the institution. ” It is disheartened to say that we have been forced to hold our school official events as such this the 15th congregation in the open in the expense of the weather since our small assembly hall cannot accommodate all our students and guests”. He mentioned
“This is sad and undeserving of a tertiary institution as huge as this college “Ameco”,” he said.
” I therefore want to use this opportunity to once again appeal to the Government and other benevolent organisations, associations, well-wishers and donors to help put up an Ultra-Modern Auditorium for the college” he appealed
The college administration has expressed optimism that the new auditorium will be a game-changer for the institution. “We believe that this facility will enhance the learning experience for our students and provide them with the resources they need to succeed,” the principal added.
