The National Democratic Congress (NDC), Parliamentary Candidate for Talensi Constituency in the Upper East Region, Hon. Daniel Mahama Dung, and the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Benson Tongo Baba have donated assorted food items, made up of thirty bags of rice and fifteen cartoons of cooking oil to the Muslim community in the Constituency as their widows mite to help them celebrate this year’s Eid Al addha festival which is annually celebrated by Muslim all over the globe.
The donation from the two leaders is in line with the party’s established relationship with the Muslim community in the area which received an impetus from 2015 when Hon B. T. Baba got the mantle to represent the Talensi Constituency as the Legislator in the august house of Parliament.
Since from that unset, the party through the MP has always extended this kind gesture to their Muslim compatriots during such celebrations.
This donation was made to all Muslims in the Constituency who live and work in the Bolgatanga abattoir with the similar spirit of fostering cordial relationship and to seek for Allah’s blessings upon the people of the Talensi area
The beneficiaries who could not hide their joy for the support recounted the several donations they have received from the NDC, which is normally sponsored by Hon. B. T. Baba since his ascension to the seat as the Law Maker for the area.
They were equally excited to note that his heir, Mr. Daniel Mahama Dung is ready to sustain the relationship when he takes over as the MP. They therefore expressed their profound gratitude to them and the party a whole for their spirit of generosity.
The party’s Constituency Chairman, Hon. John Millim Nabwomya who officially handed over the food items to the beneficiaries through the Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Abeongo charged the Islamic community in the Constituency to remained faithful to the party as there are better days ahead.
