Legal Turmoil: Cecilia Dapaah Sued By Brother’s Widow Over $800,000 Inheritance.

Former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah is facing increasing trouble as her late brother’s widow has filed a lawsuit against her, seeking the recovery of an alleged $800,000 that she claims rightfully belonged to her deceased husband.

The situation escalated after significant sums of money were purportedly stolen by the Minister’s housemaids. NPP propaganda journalist, Paul Adom-Otchere, stepped in to defend Dapaah, stating that out of the alleged $1 million stolen, $800,000 belonged to her late brother, who was formerly known as Nana Akwasi Essan II, a respected Asante chief who passed away in 2022.

Adom-Otchere’s claims tried to downplay the outrage surrounding the missing money, insisting that only $200,000 of the stolen funds belonged to Cecilia Dapaah herself. He further asserted that an additional 300,000 euros, which went missing, were not the Minister’s possessions but instead belonged to her husband.

However, a new twist emerged when the late Nana Akwasi Essan II’s wife spoke out, expressing unawareness of any significant sum of money belonging to her husband being in Cecilia Dapaah’s possession. As a result, she has taken legal action to reclaim the money, stating that her late husband’s assets should rightfully be returned to her and their children under the laws of Ghana.
