BoG Governor Won’t Resign – Edmund Kyei Tells NDC

Hon. Edmund Kyei, the ruling New Patriotic Party’s first Vice Chairman for Asokwa Constituency, has stated that he does not agree with the minority in Parliament’s demand that the Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Ernest Addison, should quit due to the GHS60.8 billion loss.

He stated that the causes that contributed to the loss were not the Governor’s fault.

 

 

According to Mr. Edmund, the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is noted for always making propaganda out of everything that happens in this country, and it’s not surprising that they make propaganda out of good social policies like free education, NHI, etc.

 

In a statement sighted by MyGhanaMedia.com, he added that every sector that has seen success under the NPP has come under severe attack by the NDC, and their current target is Dr. Ernest Addison after seeing the success he has seen as the Governor of the Bank Of Ghana.

 

 

“As the part of the means NDC is adopting to elections 2024 to bring hardships on Ghanaians, they have chosen to attack the NPP success stories and to also paint the face of NPP success stores black to Ghanaians” he stated.

 

He said this after the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) demanded the resignation of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr Ernest Addison, and his deputies at their Moment of Truth press conference.

GOVERNOR OF B.O.G WON’T RESIGN, EDMUND KYEI TO NDC

The NDC is noted for always making propaganda out of everything that happens in this country and it’s not surprising that they make propaganda out of good social policies like free education, Nhis etc.

Their many years in power has made Ghanaians suffer severe hardships and hate to see the burden of Ghanaians eased.

Every sector that has seen success under the NPP has come under severe attack and their current target the Dr Ernest Addison after seeing the success he has chopped as the Governor of Bank Of Ghana.

In 2022, Dr Addison was adjudged the 10th best Governor in Africa by Global Finance Magazine.

The Central Banker Report which is published annually by the Global Finance since 1994 adjudged Dr Ernest Addison among the 10 best Governors in Africa for his success in the area of inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability and interest rate management. Due his high knowledge in Economics, he has held many positions in the economic sector as the leader Regional.

Economist of the African Development Bank at the Southern African Resource Centre, from 2003 to 2011, he served as the Director of Research at the Bank of Ghana and was also the Chief Economist of the West African Monetary institute from 2001 to 2002.
