Offinso South: NPP Supporters Angry Over Chairman’s Defamation, Demand Fair Respect, Appreciation For Him

Some supporters of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in Ofinso South constituency have expressed bitterness and disappointment over how their hardworking party chairman’s image is brought into disrepute instead showering praises on him.

According to the angry supporters, they wonder why some people, out of their own parochial and selfish interest will go the extent of tarnishing the image of a hardworking and committed chairman like Mr. Amoafa Atuobi Yiadom aka Chairman Bantama.

“Ofinso NPP is tired of these black painting of people. It’s high time we seize these demonic act, the Chairman is our eye and heart. Why didn’t they get anyone else than our innocent hardworking chairman who has toiled his blood for the well-being of Ofinso South NPP?”, one of the angry supporters inquired.

The angry supporters’ agitation comes in response to the recent comment made by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong against the Ofinso South NPP Chairman. In Kennedy’s claim, he mentioned that the said Chairman had not been seen within the constituency for the past two months. He further added that the chairman was nowhere to be found on the day of election.

But reactin to Kennedy’s claim in red manner, the angry supporters said they were very shock to hear such a fictitious claim about their hardworking chairman from Kennedy Agyapong. They said the chairman has been working very tiredly without a fail from start to finish.

“Why do we have to black paint such an innocent hardworking chairman with this malicious, hatred and ungratefulness to the national level? Chairman Bantama single handedly bought airtime of the area radio stations to hijack the other parties to pave way for the NPP alone, he usually does big things from his own pocket money all for the sake of Ofinso NPP. Why this defamation?”, One crying supporter who was pissed by the development quested.

They have therefore threatened a heavy demonstration to register displeasure over the issue.

Speaking to the Constituency Chairman over the issue,he said even though he had been hurt by the ongoing defamation but called on the angry supporters to calm down.

According to him, the MP elect Dr. I. Y. Opoku had spoken to him about the wrong misinformation and had assured they were going to make surely the misfortune is deleted. He coated many biblical quotations to back his innocence that there was nothing like he absenting himself from the constitution.

He finally expressed joy over the victory of NPP and Nana Addo, and however assured that there were many good things in continuation of the existing ones.
