Eastern Region: 84 Out Of 92 People Filed Nominations To Contest NPP Parliamentary Primaries In 24 Constituencies – Full List

A total of ninety-two (92) individuals from the 24 constituencies in the Eastern Region declared their desire to run in the 2023 New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries.

Out of these, 84 candidates have officially filed their I, poised to challenge incumbents in 22 constituencies.

Notably, two constituencies, including Abetifi and Upper West Akim, will have no contest since the aspirants are going unopposed.

Among the 84 candidates, 10 are strong female aspirants, significantly contributing to gender diversity in the contest.

A commendable 17 candidates fall within the youth category, showcasing a dynamic mix of experienced and emerging leaders.

After the close of nomination on Monday, December 25, 2023, Okyere Constituency, has the highest number of aspirants which is six vying to be the parliamentary candidate.

The next constituencies with the highest number of aspirants are Kade, Fanteakwa North, Lower West Akim, New Juaben North, Fanteakwa South, Akuapem South, Achiase, and Abuakwa North, with five individuals contesting the party’s slot.
