Mr. Evans Appiah, an independent parliamentary candidate for New Juaben South, has underlined that independent candidates will eventually take control of the parliament.
The political party MPs, in his opinion, have not fulfilled their obligations to their constituents.
He said that Parliamentarians from political parties constantly put their party’s mission before thinking about the wider public.
He continued by saying that party officials always cover up for members of parliament who are not carrying out their assigned responsibilities and that MPs always cover for their fellow Legislators when they fail to appear in parliament.
In addition to giving independent candidates a chance, he thinks Ghanaians have lost faith in the political party’s parliamentary candidates.
Furthermore, he asserted, that Ghanaians ought to support an independent candidate over a candidate from a political party in the 2024 election because it represents a renewal of optimism.
On Saturday, January 6, 2024, he made this statement in an interview with Odi Ahenkan Kwame Yeboah on the “Asem Yi Di Ka” show on Ahenkan FM.
Additionally, he mentioned that the delegates typically solicit contracts from MPs and then exploit the public to carry out those duties.
In the next elections, he suggested, it would be wiser to support an independent candidate rather than a partisan one.
