The President of the Republic, H.E Akufo-Addo has congratulated the winners of the New Patriotic Party’s just-ended parliamentary primaries in areas where the party has sitting Members of Parliament.

The President remarked in a statement on Sunday, January 28, “We have elected a good blend of youthful and experienced parliamentary candidates whom I warmly congratulate.”

In the 9th Parliament of the 4th Republic, he predicted that elected candidates would “help secure a majority for the NPP and help return an NPP presidential candidate into office on January 7, 2025.”

According to him, the rank and file of the party have shown Ghanaians that they are the party of democracy and the rule of law.

As required by party tradition, he urged the election losers to support the winners, stating that “today’s losers can be tomorrow’s winners.”

He added, “Let us stay the course, conduct ourselves well before the Ghanaian people, strengthen our organisation, and win the 2024 elections.”
