Honourable John Kwame Duodu, the New Patriotic Party(NPP)’s  1st Vice Chairman for the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency of the Ashanti Region, has conveyed his warm Easter wishes to the Christian community and people of Ghana at large.

Sir John, as he is popularly called, expressed the hope that the Nation will be healed and cleansed of all wrongs by the commemoration of Easter as Christ offered to humanity on the cross.

In his statement, he said that for everyone in Ghana and around the world, the remembrance of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection should mark the beginning of a new season marked by faith, hope, growth, prosperity, reconciliation, and sacrifice for one another.

The Ashanti Regional TESCON Patron also exhorted Ghanaians to use Easter as an opportunity to come together and embrace the principles of bravery, selflessness, empathy, and fellow feeling that characterize the Easter observance.

He encouraged the people of Ghana “to reflect on our shared humanity and to recommit ourselves to building a society that is just, inclusive, and equitable for all.”

He also urged Ghanaians to use the occasion to forgive and reconcile with one another.

“As Christians all over the world celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, it is my fervent prayer that Ghanaians and particularly Christians would use this festive season to reflect on the need to reconcile with one another as the death of Christ symbolizes, to love one another and to live in peace. It is only when there is peace that we can develop our nation to the level we all want”

Sir John further urged celebrants who would take part in the various Easter activities to adhere to established safety measures to minimize the fatalities usually associated with the occasion.
