Video: FIFA Adds Ghana Black Stars’ 2022 World Cup “Jama” Drum to Its Museum Collection

The drum the Ghana Black Stars used for their ‘jama’ session ahead of games at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar has been added to the FIFA Museum collection.

The “dondo” (local term for drum) has become a customary sight at Ghana’s football national team assignments

The Black Stars touched down in Qatar in style and made the headlines with their arrival ahead of match days during the period they were in the tournament.

In the latest development, FIFA has announced the drum has become the latest addition to the collection at the Museum in Zurich.

Drums have served as an important part of the vibrant musical culture which exists in Ghana.

For the Black Stars and any other national team of Ghana, the drum has been used during their jama sessions during training sessions as well as ahead of match days.
