A team from the National headquarters of the Commission with a Cinema Van, led by Irene Minston-Amihere(Mrs)(Assistant Director) arrived at the Birim Central Municipality in the Eastern Region specifically Essam Electoral Area
on Friday, 29th November, 2024.

The Essam Community were shown a film titled “Cry Free Town” which depicted Electoral Violence that occurred in Sierra Leone which led to Civil War in that country.

The film show took place at the Market Square attracting majority of members of the community even children.
The engagement through the film show aimed at bringing to the fore the impact of violence especially before, during and after Elections which can easily escalate into civil unrest.

Contributions from members of the community were geared towards political tolerance which is the key to peaceful coexistence and absence of violence or war.
