The Abusuapayin of the Aduana Royal family of Akyem Chia in the Akyemansa District of Eastern Region, Abusuapayin Addo Dankwa, has dismissed claims of unrest in the town.
According to him, the rumors are baseless and only serve to cause confusion.
Addressing the press, Abusuapayin Addo Dankwa alleged that the Queen-mother, Nana Ntiamoah Boadiwaa III, is behind the rumors.
He claimed that she has been preventing the installation of a new chief due to her own interests.
Abusuapayin Addo Dankwa also opposed the news conference called by Nana Ntiamoah Boadiwaa III, the community’s Queen Mother, asserting that the new chief’s installation would bring chaos because the route in which he was chosen was improper.
The queen-mother’s actions toward her fellow citizens were denounced by the Abusuapayin.
According to him, Nana Ntiamoah Boadiwaa III does desire communal development.
Furthermore, Abusuapayin Addo Dankwa accused the Queenmother of misusing GHC 84,000 meant for community development and selling lands meant for future development.
Abusuapayin Addo Dankwa has called on the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council, the Akyemansa District Security Council, and other relevant authorities to intervene and bring peace to the community.
The residents of Akyem Chia have also expressed their desire for a substantive chief to bring an end to the Queenmother’s autocratic leadership style.
