Basic schools in Goaso of the Ahafo region will be closed down on Thursday, February 27, 2025, for the 40th-day observation of the late Paramount Chief, Nana Kwasi Bosomprah.
The Nkabomhene, Nana Kwabena Frimpong announced the directive in an interview with Adom News.
Nana Frimpong noted that the traditional council has engaged the Education Directorate to ensure adherence.
He explained that the directive is to ensure their children are safe as many people and some evil minds may capitalise on that to commit crimes such as kidnapping.
According to him, the traditional council doesn’t want any bad incident to be linked to the observation, hence parents must ensure that their children are home.

Additionally, shops and other businesses with the exception of pharmacies and few restaurants will also be closed down.
He noted, any person who fails to comply with the directives will be death with.
Nana Kwasi Bosomprah passed away after a prolonged illness.

His death was officially announced on December 16, 2024, by Otumfuo’s linguist, Kyeame Antwi Boasiako, during an Asanteman Council meeting.
Nana Bosomprah, who ascended the Goasomanhene stool in 2008, was a prominent traditional leader known for his vocal advocacy for development and his critiques of government policies that he believed hindered progress in the Goaso area.
