Residents and drivers of Odoben , kuntenase and Asikuma and its environs in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwah district of the Central Region has bemoaned the bad nature of their roads and appealed to government to repair them .
According to them , roads in the area from Nyakrom to Asikuma are full of potholes with rough surfaces as stones used to base are showing due to the erosion and neglect over the years .
Some of the residents told plan b news that drivers especially commercial ones often try to dodge the numerous potholes on the roads ,putting the lives of pedestrians and passengers in danger.
They also complained about the muddy and slippery nature of the roads whenever it rained, which they stated made it difficult for them to move freely to their destinations.
Some of the residents at Odoben said a times snakes comes into the vehicle when ply the roads .
They said that farmers in the area find it difficult to transport their goods due to the high transport fares in the area.
Some drivers who use the road also revealed how they always have to visit mechanics every time they ply the road.
“We have to always visit the mechanic anytime we use the road because of our vehicles always breakdown and as a result, we sometimes do not want to use the road at all.
We are urging our authorities to fix the roads for us. This is raining season and potholes have been created on the road, if a driver is not careful and falls into them it is likely to cause accidents.
